About Ultimate Dashboard PRO WordPress Plugin

The WordPress dashboard was designed for developers, not for your client

You hand over a flawless site and your client logs in to the dashboard: notices from plugins they don't understand, widgets they will never use and a menu full of options they shouldn't touch. That panel is the only part of the project they see every day, and it's exactly the one nobody remembers to design. Ultimate Dashboard PRO exists for that: turning the admin into an interface built for the person who uses it, not the person who built it.

Ultimate Dashboard PRO: widgets, menus and admin bar tailored to you

The plugin works on several layers of the admin, and it helps to know which:

  • Third-party widget cleanup: removes from the dashboard the widgets that other plugins install on their own.
  • Your own widgets: adds video and contact widgets.
  • Access by role and by user: restricts widgets and admin pages to the specific roles or users you choose.
  • Admin menu editor: hides, rearranges and adds menu and submenu items, with custom icons, by role or by user.
  • Admin bar editor: hides, rearranges and adds top and sub-level items, with custom labels and URLs.
  • Custom admin pages: create top-level pages or submenus with HTML and CSS, Gutenberg or a page builder, and add custom CSS and JS.

Replacing the entire dashboard with a page builder layout

You can replace the whole dashboard with a saved layout from Elementor, Beaver Builder, Bricks, Breakdance, Divi or Brizy, or combine it with the plugin's widgets. Oxygen is also listed, but marked as beta. Note: you build the layout in that page builder, so you need it installed and need to know how to use it. Check in the demo whether there is a starting dashboard template.

Common questions before installing

Can I hide admin sections from my client?

Yes, in widgets as well as in custom pages, by role or by user. Think carefully about what you hide: an over-trimmed menu leads to “I can't find anything” calls.

Does it change the look of the login screen?

It includes a login customizer with different layouts and control over the details of the login screen.

White label: make the admin look like yours or your client's

You can apply your own branding to the admin: custom color scheme, classic or modern layout, your own logo in the admin bar and more settings. For an agency, it's the difference between delivering “a WordPress” and delivering “their management panel”.

Multisite: one blueprint site and the rest inherit it

On a network, you declare one site as the blueprint and the others inherit its widgets, white label settings and more. You can exclude specific sites, set a global widget order and adjust capabilities.

Decide which role sees what first, then touch the menu

To avoid redoing work, start by defining who logs in to the site: client, editor, contributor. With that clear, set up role access, then the menu and bar, and leave the dashboard design with your page builder for last. Always test with a user of each role, not just your administrator, because that's where you'll see what the client really sees.
