About Visual Art | Gallery WordPress Theme

For people who show and sell their work, not for those who need bookings or tickets

A ceramics workshop, a carpenter or a fashion designer often have the same problem: the photos are good, but the website puts them in a corporate template and the work looks like any catalogue product. Visual Art starts from a different place: the site is a gallery and everything else hangs from that.

It suits you if you are an artist, craftsperson, studio or small museum who wants to show visually strong pieces, with the option to sell. It is not for you if you are looking for:

  • A booking or ticket-selling system for exhibitions: that is not what this theme describes.
  • A shop without WooCommerce: selling depends on that plugin.
  • Ready-made forms without installing anything: contact relies on Contact Form 7, a separate plugin.

Three starting demos: crafts, decorative art and visual art

Visual Art comes with Arts & Crafts, Decorative Art and Visual Art demos, designed for craft, exhibition, museum, carpentry, pottery, ceramics or fashion websites. The idea is that you do not start from a blank page: you pick the demo closest to your trade and replace the text and photos with your own.

The demo content is imported in a single click through the Unyson importer, and the site ends up looking like the demo. For non-technical users, it is the quickest way to see how their work fits before changing anything.

A Slider Revolution home page that lets the work breathe

The theme is compatible with the Slider Revolution plugin, which lets you combine text, images and video with transitions and animations. On an art site it is useful for opening with your strongest piece or the current exhibition, instead of a generic banner.

One tip: animations grab attention, but they also compete with the work. If your pieces are delicate or minimalist, use soft transitions and let the image lead. The theme is responsive and retina ready, so large photos should not look blurry.

Selling pieces with WooCommerce and saving favourites with YITH

Visual Art is compatible with WooCommerce, so you can sell directly from the website, and WooCommerce lets you take payments in several currencies once configured. It also supports YITH WooCommerce Wishlist, which helps with high-priced work: the buyer saves what they like and comes back when ready.

If you sell one-of-a-kind pieces, remember to set each product to a single unit in stock. And check in the demo how a product page looks with one large image, because that is what you will use most.

If your audience speaks more than one language: WPML compatibility

The theme is compatible with WPML. WPML is a separate plugin that you will need to install and configure yourself.

Common questions before choosing Visual Art

Can I copy the demo exactly?

Yes: with the Unyson importer you load the demo content in one click and then adapt it.

Is it suitable for photography?

It is designed mainly for art, crafts and fashion. If you want it for photography, check in the demos whether the image layout suits your formats, portrait or landscape.

Can I charge in several currencies?

Yes, with WooCommerce once configured. The theme alone does not handle payments.

Does it look good on mobile?

It is responsive and retina ready. Even so, open the demo on your phone and check the gallery and the shop before deciding.
