About Woo Import Export Plugin

Switching hosting, cloning a store or fixing 800 prices without opening every product

There comes a point in every WooCommerce store when the WordPress dashboard falls short: you need to move the catalog to another site, update prices in bulk or pull orders out to work on them elsewhere. Doing it by hand is slow, and every mistake gets multiplied across hundreds of products. Woo Import Export Plugin is built for that heavy lifting: taking data out of the store into a file and putting it into another store, or the same one, in a controlled way.

What store data you can move with Woo Import Export Plugin

It works with products, orders, product categories, coupons, comments and users. That makes it useful for anyone running several stores.

The supported formats are csv, xls, xlsx, json, txt, ods and xml, and it also accepts zip files. If your supplier sends you the catalog in Excel, you don't have to convert it first.

Long imports that don't tie up your browser

A large catalog can't safely be imported in a single pass: the server gets tired, the tab closes and you don't know what was left half done. Here the process can run in the background and can be paused, resumed or stopped whenever you want. You can launch several imports or exports at once, and a simple operation can be converted into a background one.

There is also automatic scheduling: imports or exports that repeat on their own, with management of the scheduled tasks. A step-by-step log is kept, with the detail of each imported record.

Filters and field mapping so you don't drag in junk

  • Filters on export: you can pull out just part of the data, for example products with an ID greater than 50.
  • Filters on import: you can also filter the data in the file you upload before it is processed.
  • Field management on export: you rearrange and edit fields with one click, so the file comes out with the columns you care about.
  • Drag and drop mapping on import: you match each column in your file to the destination field, useful when the file comes from a supplier using different column names.

The plugins you already use are covered by add-ons

For data from other plugins to travel with the catalog, the system relies on compatibility add-ons. There are add-ons for Yoast SEO, ACF and ACF Pro, WPML, Polylang, Rank Math SEO and All in One SEO, plus a Google Cloud Storage add-on. If your store is multilingual or has custom fields, check that the add-on for your specific plugin is available before planning the migration.

What you will still handle yourself: testing and cleaning the file

  • Already solved: exporting and importing, scheduling, pausing, filtering, field mapping and checking the log.
  • You cover it: making sure the source file is clean (well-named columns, prices without odd symbols), because the plugin moves what you give it.
  • You cover it: making a backup before a large import and testing it first with a few rows.
  • With another plugin: data from third-party plugins that have no compatibility add-on.

Nor is it a full site migrator: it moves WooCommerce data, not the theme, the settings or the store's plugins.
