About WooCommerce Authorize Net Reporting
Closing the month on a store that takes payments through Authorize.net usually means logging in to the gateway, building reports and waiting for them to run, and in some cases that eats up to half an hour just to get a simple list of transactions. This plugin saves you that ritual.
What the gateway shows you and your store doesn't: two sources worth cross-checking
Anyone selling with Authorize.net has two versions of the truth: the orders in WooCommerce and the transactions in the gateway. Hardly anyone compares them until something doesn't add up, and then it has to be done in a rush. WooCommerce Authorize Net Reporting puts the gateway side into a CSV that arrives on its own, so the comparison becomes a habit and not an emergency.
An ordinary Monday with WooCommerce Authorize Net Reporting
Here is the usage flow, step by step:
- First, the account. You need an Authorize.net account. The plugin neither creates it nor replaces the gateway.
- Second, the setup. You enter one or more email addresses and your Authorize.net API credentials. If you already have the payment gateway active in the store, that information appears pre-filled.
- Third, the daily email. Every day you receive a message with a CSV attached containing the previous day's transactions. It can go to one person or to a list.
- Fourth, the one-off lookup. If you need a specific day or week, you go to Reports > Authorize.net in your WooCommerce, choose the date range and click Download. The CSV is downloaded without logging in to Authorize.net.
The limit is built into the design: the report covers transactions, in CSV, and arrives by email. If you want to analyze the data you will have to open it in a spreadsheet or in your accounting software.
What the CSV contains and why it matters to whoever keeps the books
Each file holds the detail of the transactions, not a sales summary. If you want to know in advance which fields it includes, there is a sample CSV you can check before deciding.
Requirements and countries where it makes sense
- An Authorize.net account, essential.
- A store running WooCommerce; the plugin is compatible with high-performance order storage (HPOS).
- It is aimed at stores in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and its interface is in English.
If your store takes payments through another gateway, this plugin is no use to you: it only reports on Authorize.net.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send the report to several people?
Yes. You can enter one address or a list of addresses.
Which day does the daily email cover?
The previous day's transactions, in an attached CSV.
Can I pull a report for a specific week?
Yes, from Reports > Authorize.net you choose the date range and download the CSV.
Is it useful if I also take payments through another gateway besides Authorize.net?
It only reports Authorize.net transactions. Payments from other gateways are not included in these files.
Do I need to log in to my Authorize.net account to download the reports?
No. Once the API credentials are set up, the daily email and the one-off download are handled from your store.
