About WooCommerce Bookings Availability
A slot you don't sell today can't be sold tomorrow
If you run classes, tours, appointments or rentals, your inventory expires with the clock: the 6:00 PM slot that stays empty today never comes back. Even so, customers usually have to open each product page to find out what is free. WooCommerce Bookings Availability takes those slots out of the product pages and puts them on any page or post, as a calendar or a list.
How to build a booking page with WooCommerce Bookings Availability
Imagine an academy with several classes that wants a single booking page. The path would be this:
- First, have Bookings. This plugin is an add-on for WooCommerce Bookings, which is purchased separately. Bookings handles the bookable products and availability rules; this one only displays them. On its own it does nothing.
- Second, add the block. From the WordPress block editor, you insert the Bookings Calendar or Bookings Schedule block into the page or post you want.
- Third, decide what is shown. You can include all bookable products, a hand-picked list, or only certain categories or resources. That way you build a page for one type of class, a seasonal offer or one location's services.
- Fourth, pick the format. The calendar shows availability by week or by month, and hovering over a slot opens a popup with date, time and price. The list orders the slots for a day, a week or a month with the product name, time, price and a button to book.
- Fifth, the booking. The customer adds to the cart from the block itself and, if the product has options, can customize it first. One limit: if a product has several open slots on the same day, the customer is taken to the product page to choose the exact time on the calendar.
Does it work for hotels, tickets or date-range searches?
Does it work without WooCommerce Bookings?
No. It relies on Bookings for everything related to reservations, so without it there is nothing to display.
Can customers type a date range and search?
No. It is designed for customers to browse open slots, not to enter dates and filter. If your customers need to search by range, this does not cover that need.
Is it suitable for a hotel or for selling event tickets?
For hotel or B&B style stays, Bookings is paired with the free Accommodation Bookings add-on. For one-off event tickets, which are not time-slot bookings, WooCommerce Box Office is worth a look.
Calendar or list?
The calendar is for seeing the month at a glance; the list is for an agenda format with product, time and price one below the other. You can use either one depending on the page.
Showing sold-out slots: only useful if demand is real
The plugin can show sold-out slots next to open ones. With a schedule that fills up, seeing times already taken reinforces the sense of demand and pushes people to book what is left. If your schedule is half empty, on the other hand, showing lots of free space does not help, so think about how you want your page to look before publishing it.
