About WooCommerce Conditional Content
Your store knows things the customer can't see
You have low-stock products, sales starting on Monday, quantity pricing and wholesale customers, yet the product page says the same thing to everyone. Shoppers don't find out that only three units are left, that there's a discount from five items, or that they are four euros short of completing a promotion. WooCommerce Conditional Content makes that information appear only when it is true and only for the people who need it.
Whoever installs this usually has a catalog with many commercial rules that live in their head or in other plugins, and almost none reaches the customer's screen. Most purchase doubts aren't solved with more products, but with one sentence in the right place.
Rules that combine to decide where and when each message appears
The core of the plugin is a rule builder. You can create a simple rule in a few clicks or chain several conditions together. They fall into groups:
- Product rules: specific products, product type, categories, attributes and price range.
- Stock rules: status (in stock or out of stock) and inventory level range.
- Sale rules: whether the product is on sale and the sale start and end dates.
- User rules: specific roles or specific users, for example wholesalers, members or VIP accounts.
- Cart rules: cart total above or below a value, specific products in a given quantity and categories present in the cart.
With them you can warn that an item is running out, announce a sale that starts soon, show a buying guide in a category or suggest an add-on once the customer has already put something in the cart.
Where the content appears, and what the plugin doesn't do for you
The usual WooCommerce locations are available in the interface, so you don't have to look up hook names. If you need a spot that isn't listed, you can type your own hook or place the content in your theme with a template tag. The latter requires editing theme code.
Some limits are worth knowing before you buy:
- It is a messaging and content plugin: it doesn't change prices or create discounts. For a quantity price table to be real, the discount has to exist elsewhere.
- It complements Dynamic Pricing: the content can reflect those rules, but the pricing logic is not included.
- It needs WooCommerce: it is no use on a WordPress site without a store.
- Rules are written by hand: there are no automatic recommendations of what to show, you decide every condition.
Frequently asked questions about WooCommerce Conditional Content
Can I show a message only to wholesale customers?
Yes, with the user role rule. You can also target specific users.
Is it useful for warning about low stock?
Yes. There is an inventory level range rule and a stock status rule, so the notice appears when it reaches the threshold you define.
Does it work in the cart and not just on the product page?
Yes. You can tie a message to the cart total, to certain products in a given quantity or to categories present in it.
Can I schedule a sale notice?
Yes, there are rules by sale start and end date and by sale status.
Do I need to know how to code?
For the usual cases, no, because the common locations are chosen from the interface. Code is only needed if you want a position outside the list.
Start with a single rule on one category
The most practical approach is to test a small case: a message on a category with special shipping or a low-stock notice on your three best sellers. Check how it looks on mobile and in the theme you use, because the appearance depends on the chosen location. Then add cart and user rules one at a time, so you know which one influences your sales and which one only adds noise.
