About WooCommerce CyberSource Gateway
A store with volume and a CyberSource account, not a business still choosing a gateway
When a store already sells seriously, the problem stops being how to charge and becomes telling a fraudulent payment from a legitimate customer the bank has declined, without losing the second because of the first. This plugin connects WooCommerce with CyberSource so the payment happens inside your checkout and the processor takes care of the rest.
It fits if you already have a CyberSource account (or are about to open one), because that account generates the security keys saved in the plugin settings. CyberSource targets medium and large businesses, with over 3 million dollars in online processing. If you sell little or want a gateway you can activate with just your email, this is not for you. The store also needs an SSL certificate, and the plugin does not replace the agreement with the processor: it only acts as the bridge.
Flex Microform and 3D Secure: the form appears on your store, the card data does not pass through it
Flex Microform adds fields hosted by CyberSource at checkout. The customer never leaves your site, but card numbers are typed into the processor's fields, which helps meet the SAQ A level of PCI. On top of that comes 3D Secure, which reduces the store's risk, and Decision Manager, another CyberSource tool for optimizing your fraud prevention strategy.
You accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, UnionPay, Diner's Club, JCB and Maestro, plus country-specific cards depending on the global processor. Also eChecks and Google Pay. On mobile, the form uses numeric inputs for card type and security code, and on desktop it shows retina icons.
Declines with an explanation and refunds without opening the processor's dashboard
A generic decline makes customers abandon. Here you can show detailed decline messages so they understand what failed and fix it. On the management side, the store team can:
- Create full or partial refunds from the order edit screen, and the transaction goes to CyberSource on its own.
- Void transactions from WooCommerce, without opening the processor account.
- Capture an already authorized charge from the order itself, useful if you set the gateway to authorize without capturing.
WooCommerce CyberSource for subscriptions, pre-orders and repeat customers
The plugin supports WooCommerce Subscriptions, including payment date and subscription date changes, and the customer can subscribe with a card or an eCheck. It also works with WooCommerce Pre-Orders: you ask for payment details at booking and the charge happens automatically when the product is released. Note: both are separate extensions that you must have installed to use those features.
Customers can save several payment methods (cards and eChecks, with no limit) and manage them from My Account: add, change the active one or remove them. The data stays on CyberSource's servers, not yours, which notably reduces your PCI responsibility.

Can I charge with Google Pay?
Yes, in addition to cards and eChecks. Other wallets are not part of what this plugin offers.
Is it compatible with block checkout and HPOS?
Yes, it supports the WooCommerce cart and checkout blocks and high performance order storage.
Are cards stored on my server?
No. Payment information is stored on CyberSource's secure servers.
Do I need anything else besides the plugin?
A CyberSource account with its security keys and an SSL certificate on the store. Without those, the plugin cannot process anything.
