About WooCommerce Freshdesk

When the customer writes "my order hasn't arrived" and doesn't say which one

Anyone who runs support for an online store knows the pattern: a vague email arrives, you have to ask for the order number, the customer takes a day to reply and the problem stays exactly the same. What complicates after-sales support is usually not the problem itself, but that the conversation and the order live in different places and someone has to join them by hand.

WooCommerce Freshdesk connects your store to your Freshdesk account.

Tickets from My Account and from the order: what WooCommerce Freshdesk does

What the customer sees

  • They can create a ticket related to an order without leaving your store.
  • They see the list of their active tickets on the My Account screen.

What you do

  • You create a ticket while viewing an order in the WordPress admin. It is useful when the customer contacts you through another channel and you want the case on record.
  • You turn a comment on a blog post into a ticket, straight from the admin panel, so a public question doesn't go unanswered.

It needs Freshdesk and doesn't replace a chat

This plugin is a bridge, not a help desk of its own: you need an existing Freshdesk account. It is not a live chat either: the customer opens tickets and checks the ones that are active. If you want real-time support, this extension doesn't cover that.

A forum and a solution center for each product

Freshdesk is not just tickets: it also has a discussion forum and a solution center (the knowledge base). WooCommerce Freshdesk lets you create forum and solution categories for each of your products, and connect and sync a product with a category in your account.

This makes sense when each product raises the same questions again and again (use, assembly, sizing, compatibility). If the answer lives in that product's solution center, you don't need to answer it a hundred times by email. If you sell few products with few questions, you will probably get more out of the ticket side than this one.

Common questions before installing it

Do I need a Freshdesk account?

Yes. The extension connects WooCommerce to your existing Freshdesk help desk; it doesn't work on its own.

Can my customers create tickets without leaving the store?

Yes. From their My Account page they can submit tickets and see the ones that are still active.

Can I create tickets myself from the admin?

Yes, from an order or from a comment on a blog post.

Does it sync products with Freshdesk?

Yes: each product can be linked to a forum and solution category in your account. It is also listed as compatible with WooCommerce high-performance order storage (HPOS).

Organize Freshdesk first, then link the products

Before connecting anything, decide how you want to organize the forum and the solution center in Freshdesk: which categories you need and which products deserve their own. Linking a product to a category is a decision made product by product, so start with the ones that generate the most questions and leave the rest until you see the structure works.

Then test the whole journey as if you were a customer: place an order, go to My Account, open a ticket and check that it shows up in Freshdesk. That way you find out early whether your team is comfortable with that workflow.
