About WooCommerce Help Scout
When a customer asks about an order and you search three places
One question about a shipment arrives by email, another through a blog comment and another through a loose form. To answer, you open the order in WooCommerce, copy the details and paste them into another tool. WooCommerce Help Scout connects your store to a Help Scout mailbox.
Forms, orders and comments: the three entry points of WooCommerce Help Scout
- Shortcode form: with [wc_help_scout_form] you can place a contact form on any page. It can be adapted with CSS.
- Contact from the order: inside each order in the admin there is a form to write to the customer through Help Scout, without leaving WooCommerce.
- Blog comments: if a customer describes their problem in a comment, you can reply and turn it into a conversation inside Help Scout.
My Account as a follow-up hub
The plugin adds a section to the My Account page where the customer sees their conversations and can reply. They do not have to dig up an old email to resume an issue. For you, the whole history of tickets, queries and comments stays in Help Scout, with its tools to reply to and update each conversation.
Think of this section as a ticket channel, not a real-time chat: the plugin links WooCommerce to your mailbox, and the experience depends on how you have set up Help Scout.
Decide whether WooCommerce Help Scout suits you before committing your support
This plugin is only the bridge. You also need your own Help Scout subscription, purchased separately. Without it, there is nothing to connect.
It is also worth knowing that only one mailbox (mailbox ID) can be configured and, once set, you should not change it: another account would not recognize the customers tied to the first and would throw an error. If you work with several mailboxes per brand or language, this is a serious drawback.
Before using it on a high-volume store, test it in a staging environment with real orders, including guest ones.
Does it work without a Help Scout account?
No. The plugin connects WooCommerce to Help Scout, which is a separate service with its own monthly plan.
Can I connect several mailboxes?
No. It supports only one mailbox, and changing it after setup causes errors.
Is it for live chat?
It is geared to conversations and tickets, not to a real-time chat inside the store.
Can I customize the form?
Yes, the shortcode form can be adapted with CSS and other tools.
What should I do about guest orders?
Test them specifically in a staging environment before activating the plugin in production.
