A wholesale price without a minimum order is a discount for everyone
Selling wholesale often starts with PDF price lists, spreadsheets flying back and forth by email and orders typed in by hand. But the real danger is different: a buyer takes a single unit at the distributor price and your margin disappears. In wholesale, the price is not a number, it is a number with conditions.
WooCommerce Wholesale Prices Premium works on top of your current store, with no separate website to build. Wholesale buyers order online with their own prices, and you stop handing out price lists on the side.
Prices by role, by category or global: how the discount is shared out
The plugin lets you create an unlimited number of wholesale customer roles, and each role can have its own rules. That is useful, for example, to separate a distributor from a small shop that buys less.
- Fixed price per product: for items where you know the exact figure.
- Global or per-category percentage: to apply a discount to the whole catalog or a specific line without editing product by product.
- Quantity discounts: the price drops the more the customer buys, useful for pushing bigger orders.
When several rules overlap on the same product, it is worth testing them with a wholesale test user before opening the store, so you know which one wins.
Who sees what: catalog, shipping, taxes and gateways handled separately
Retail customers and visitors who are not logged in only see the regular price; approved wholesale buyers see theirs. That way you don't give your rate to people who shouldn't see it.
You can also adjust the catalog depending on the type of buyer:
- "Wholesale only" products that the general public doesn't see.
- "Retail only" products hidden from wholesalers.
- Bulk variations exclusive to wholesalers.
Shipping, taxes and payment gateways are also managed separately. You can use different shipping methods for wholesalers, apply the tax rules your country requires to this channel and choose which payment gateways they can use. And with minimum purchase rules you protect your margin: a minimum subtotal to unlock wholesale pricing, a minimum number of items in the order or a minimum per product.
Is WooCommerce Wholesale Prices Premium enough, or do you need more pieces for the wholesale channel?
This plugin is the pricing and rules engine. It is not a complete B2B store: registering new wholesalers with approval, quotes, the quick order form and invoice billing with payment terms are separate plugins from the same family. If today you only need prices, visibility and minimums, it is enough. If you want to recruit wholesale customers from your website, plan for those pieces separately. There is also a free version with basic wholesale pricing to test the concept.
Can I set different prices for each type of wholesale customer?
Yes. You create the roles you need and each one has its own rules: fixed price, percentage or category discount.
Does it support quantity discounts?
Yes, with tiered pricing: the more the customer buys, the better the price.
Can regular customers see wholesale prices?
No. Retail customers and guests only see the standard price; approved wholesalers see theirs.
Does it work with standard WooCommerce?
Yes, it integrates with WooCommerce without changing your current setup.
