About WP Job Manager Applications
Applications that don't get lost in an inbox
A job board with "send your CV by email" links usually ends up the same way: applications scattered across each company's mailbox, messages without attachments, and nobody who knows how many people have responded to a listing. WP Job Manager Applications replaces those links with a form inside the listing itself and stores every application in the database.
The idea behind it: on a job board, employers don't pay you to publish, they pay because applications reach them in an orderly way and they can work with them. If the hiring process lives outside your site, your board is just a shop window that gets forgotten.
A form you can change field by field
By default, the application form shows these fields:
- Candidate name
- Candidate email
- Cover letter or message
- Resume upload as an attached file
From the backend, using the plugin's own editor, you can add, edit and remove fields. The same editor lets you customize the notification emails sent to the employer and the candidate. When someone submits an application, it is saved and the employer receives an email alert.
Candidate management inside WP Job Manager Applications
Where applications show up depends on how your board works:
- If employers post from the frontend: applications appear in each employer's job dashboard.
- If you post the listings yourself: applications arrive in the admin dashboard.
Either way, you can add private notes, rate each one and organize applications by status (for example: new, interviewed or archived). Each application includes links to email the candidate, open their attachment (if any) and read their cover letter.
If you also use Resume Manager, a logged-in user can pick one of their resumes on the form, and a link to their online resume is sent with the application. If you use the application form that comes with Resume Manager, those applications are also stored in the database.
Before you decide: it's an add-on with a specific scope
Applications doesn't work on its own: it's an add-on for WP Job Manager, so you need that plugin installed. And it focuses on receiving and organizing applications: it lets you sort them with notes, ratings and statuses, but it is not an applicant tracking system with complex hiring workflows. Its code is designed so a developer can customize it.
Does it replace the apply-by-email or website button?
Yes, the form takes the place of those standard links in the listing.
Where do I see the applications?
In the employer's job dashboard if listings are posted from the frontend, or in the admin dashboard if you post them yourself.
Can I remove the cover letter field or add others?
Yes, the form editor lets you add, edit and delete fields.
Can I customize the email the employer and candidate receive?
Yes, from the same editor.
Do I need Resume Manager?
No. You only need it if you want users to choose a saved resume when applying.
