About WP Job Manager WordPress Plugin
An empty job board is of no use to anyone
Building a job board on WordPress often ends up as a page of hand-pasted ads, disorganized candidate emails and companies that don't know how to fix their own listing. With WP Job Manager the challenge changes: the machinery is already built and the hard part is filling it.
Whoever runs a job board depends on listings: without them candidates don't come back, and without candidates companies stop posting. That's why the most important thing about the plugin is that it reduces friction for the employer: they post and manage their own listings, without you having to type them in.
Forms, search and listing pages: what WP Job Manager solves without code
- Frontend forms: employers submit and manage their listings from your site, without entering the admin area.
- Listings dashboard: a page on your site where each employer controls their ads.
- Search and filters: added with shortcodes on whichever page you choose.
- A page for each listing: every ad has its own shareable link, with a description and custom details.
- Locations and categories: included out of the box to organize the listings.
- How to apply: each listing can carry an email or a link that candidates use to apply.
The admin panel keeps the usual WordPress look, so anyone who already knows it doesn't need to learn a new interface.
Listings that Google can read and other sites can display
Listings include structured job data (Google job schema) so that Google and other search engines interpret them as job postings. That makes it easier for them to enter job searches, though it doesn't guarantee they will appear: each search engine decides that.
There are also customizable RSS feeds of the listings, useful for subscribing or for displaying them on another site. And if you have a technical profile, the plugin works with post types, endpoints and extendable templates, so you can adapt it instead of fighting it.
Is the base plugin enough, or do you need add-ons for your job board?
The base plugin covers posting, searching, filtering and managing listings. There are separate add-ons to extend its functions, so before you start, write down exactly what you need and check whether it comes in the base plugin or requires an add-on. Don't assume everything you see on other job boards is included.
Since the listing and the search are inserted with shortcodes, the final look depends on your theme. Check in the demo and on your own site how the listings and forms look before considering the job board finished.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not to use it or to manage listings. Yes if you want to change templates or connect the plugin to other systems.
Do employers have to enter the WordPress admin?
No. They submit and manage their listings from forms and a dashboard placed on pages of your site.
How do candidates get in touch?
Each listing can carry an application email or link. If you want a more elaborate application system, first check which add-on covers it.
Does it work with any theme?
It integrates through shortcodes, but the visual result varies depending on the theme. Try it and adjust the styling if needed.
