About WPC Product Options for WooCommerce Premium

Anyone selling made-to-order products tends to end up handling orders outside the store: the customer buys and then writes in to give the color, the engraving text or the size, and you recalculate the price by hand. Every extra that isn't charged in the cart is work or material you pay for yourself.

Charging for customization in the same cart

WPC Product Options for WooCommerce Premium adds fields to the product page so customers can configure their order before paying and every choice is reflected in the price. It suits stores with custom designs, on-demand orders or products with complex configurations.

Customization is not a marketing decoration, it is a production cost. If the engraving, size or finish field has no price, you are giving it away, and you usually find out once the order has already been made.

Fields, pricing and formulas in WPC Product Options for WooCommerce Premium

Fields are built with a drag and drop builder, and each one supports a title, description, required setting, price, default value and limits. There are many types:

  • Customer data: text, textarea, email, number and file upload.
  • Choice: radio buttons, checkboxes and selects, also with images or colors.
  • Measurements and dates: dimensions (width, height, length), color picker, date, date and time, date range and time.
  • Layout: heading, paragraph, separator and spacer to organize the form.
  • Shortcode: to insert whatever you want, such as a countdown or a size chart.

With conditional logic you can show or hide an option depending on what the customer has chosen, so the form doesn't fill up with irrelevant questions.

Three ways to set the price

  • Flat fee: an amount or a percentage of the main price (for example, 10%).
  • Quantity synced: the extra's price is multiplied by the units of the main product.
  • Custom formula: you define it using p (price), q (quantity), v (value) and l (length), useful for services or goods charged by measurement.

What to be clear about

The plugin is designed for simple products. If you sell variable products, check in the demo how they behave before building your catalog. And the shortcode field only inserts what that shortcode produces: the countdown or the size chart need their own plugin or code.

Global, Override or Disable: where each field lives

You have three modes per product. In Global, the product inherits the fields you created in general. In Override, you define fields of their own just for that product. In Disable, the global ones are turned off.

Questions from people who sell made-to-order products

Can I charge the extra as a percentage?

Yes. The flat fee accepts an amount or a percentage of the main price.

Can the customer upload their own design?

Yes, there is a file upload field. You decide whether it is required.

Can I hide an option based on another choice?

Yes, with conditional logic you can show or hide fields.

Does it work with variable products?

It is described for simple products. If you need it on variable ones, try it in the demo first.

Global fields are assigned by category, tag or brand

The time savings are in the assignment. Create the general fields once and link them to product types, categories, tags, brands or attributes, so that every product in a line shares the same form. Then use Override only for exceptions. Before going live, place a test order with each price type and check that the cart total matches your calculation, especially if you use your own formula.
