About Directorist AddonsKit for Bricks

Your directory is judged on the listing, not the homepage

People who build a directory with Directorist and Bricks tend to polish the homepage and leave the rest looking like a template: identical listing pages, dull search results and call-to-action buttons nobody notices. That is the wrong focus. In a directory with many entries, the listing tends to matter as much as the homepage, and that page decides whether the visitor gets in touch or leaves.

Directorist AddonsKit for Bricks is a set of custom elements for Bricks Builder made for exactly that job: freely designing the pages where the directory content lives, without writing code.

Drag-and-drop elements for listings, search and maps

Instead of bending generic Bricks elements to fit Directorist data, you work with pieces made for directories and place them wherever you want:

  • Dynamic listings: they show the directory entries in whatever layout you build.
  • Search filters: so visitors can narrow down results from a page with your own style.
  • Call-to-action buttons: designed for the flow of a directory.
  • Interactive maps, reviews, ratings and social sharing buttons: they keep visitors on the listing instead of sending them elsewhere.

Colors, fonts and layout are changed from the Bricks editor itself, so the directory can match the rest of your site.

Directorist and Bricks Builder are essential

AddonsKit is neither a directory nor a builder: it is the bridge between the two. Without them, it does nothing. It is worth being clear about who does what before you start:

  • Already solved by AddonsKit: Bricks elements made for Directorist, with visual editing of colors, fonts and layouts.
  • Already solved by AddonsKit: interactive pieces such as maps, reviews, ratings and social sharing.
  • On your own, with Directorist: the listings, categories and fields. This plugin displays them, it does not create them.
  • On your own, with Bricks: the builder and its editor. Without it, the elements do not appear.
  • On your own, by hand: the content of the listings. Good design does not make up for empty descriptions or weak photos.
  • On your own, or with a professional: any feature that is not about design, such as payments or special forms. Check the demo before taking anything for granted.

Light for visitors and tidy for search engines

The elements are built to load fast and navigate smoothly across devices, which matters in a directory, where visitors open many listings in a row. The structure Bricks generates helps search engines understand the content. Even so, ranking depends mostly on what you write in each listing: clean design is the foundation, not a shortcut.

Frequently asked questions about AddonsKit for Bricks

Does it work without Directorist?

No. Directorist is a requirement: AddonsKit only adds design elements on top of a directory already created with it.

Does it work with another page builder?

No. It is developed exclusively for Bricks Builder and Directorist. If you use Elementor or another builder, it is not the right option.

Do I need to know how to code?

Not for the usual tasks: changing colors, fonts and layouts is done from the visual editor. For features beyond design, you will need other tools or a professional.

Does it replace Directorist add-on plugins?

No. It handles design in Bricks; the directory's underlying features still depend on Directorist and whatever you add to it.
