About Drile – Furniture WooCommerce WordPress Theme
Selling a sofa online is not a design problem
The website is the easy part. The hard part of this sector begins when the customer presses buy, and it belongs settled before opening the shop because it decides the price of everything.
A large item does not fit into normal shipping arithmetic: it is charged by volume rather than weight, and the difference between leaving it at the door and carrying it to a third floor with no lift is money and something to agree in writing. Then there is assembly, the six or eight week manufacturing lead times that have to be announced without frightening the customer, and the right of withdrawal, which is fourteen days to return a wardrobe that has to be collected.
Drile is a WooCommerce theme built around the furniture case, with many ready-made homepage and product page layouts.
What it contributes
- Many prebuilt homepage layouts, so you do not start from a blank page.
- Several product page layouts, which is the page where the purchase gets decided.
- A WooCommerce base, with the standard shop engine.
- Works for other retail: fashion, electronics, footwear, eyewear, groceries and catalogues generally.
The product page is where it is won or lost
Bringing several product page layouts is not an aesthetic detail in this sector, it is the main feature. Furniture gets bought without being touched, so the page has to replace the physical shop, and that demands concrete things:
- Real, visible dimensions, not hidden in a tab. Height, width, depth and, for a sofa, the seat depth.
- Finish and fabric swatches as variants with their image, not as a dropdown list of names.
- Room shots as well as white background, because scale is only understood with a room around it.
- Delivery time on the product page, before the cart. Finding out at checkout that it is eight weeks is the main cause of abandonment.
- What the delivery includes, said right there.
A theme with several layouts lets you choose the one that fits all of that in without the page looking like a form.
Requirements
It needs WordPress and WooCommerce. Volumetric shipping, delivery appointments and freight calculation for large items get solved with plugins or with your carrier's integration.
Alternatives in the catalogue
On the same ground, MyDecor builds the shop on Elementor, and Carica leans more towards handmade furniture and one-off pieces, which is a different business with different margins.
If as well as selling you design interiors, or the reverse, Interico joins the portfolio with the furniture, which is the model of the designer who sells what they specify.
And two pieces that pay off especially well in furniture. UpsellWP places cross-selling where it works, and here it genuinely works: whoever buys a sofa is a candidate for the rug and the coffee table on the same order. And Order Delivery Date lets the customer choose the delivery day, which for furniture is not a luxury but a condition, because somebody has to be at home.
Frequently asked questions
Is it only for furniture?
It is built around that case, but it works for fashion, electronics, footwear and catalogues generally.
How many product page layouts does it bring?
Several, and that is what matters: the product page is where a furniture purchase gets decided.
Does it calculate volumetric shipping?
Not out of the box. Large item delivery gets solved with a plugin or the carrier's integration.
Where do I put the manufacturing lead time?
On the product page, before the cart. Discovering it at checkout is the main cause of abandonment.
How do I show the finishes?
As variants with images, not as a list of names. The visual swatch sells and the list does not.
And returns of large furniture?
There are fourteen days of withdrawal and collection costs money. That cost belongs in the price from the start.
