About MemberPress Account Nav Tabs
The account page is where the member finds what they need
MemberPress Account Nav Tabs is a MemberPress add-on that lets you add your own tabs to the navigation of that account page.
A real walkthrough: creating a VIP resources tab with MemberPress Account Nav Tabs
Imagine you have two membership levels and you want only the higher one to see a resources area and a priority support entry. The steps would be these:
- Prepare the destination: the tab is the front door. The page, resource collection or form it points to must already be ready on your side.
- Add the tab: you add it to the account navigation with the name the member will see, for example Downloads or VIP Support.
- Limit who sees it: with simple rules by membership level, the tab appears only to the right people. The basic level doesn't see what it hasn't bought, and the higher level notices that its plan has something of its own.
- Check it as a member: log in with an account from each level and review which tabs appear before telling anyone.
With that, the account stops being a chore and becomes the place where the member finds what you promised when you sold the membership.
Common questions before adding tabs
Can I show the same tab to all members?
Yes, but the most useful thing about the add-on is deciding by membership level who sees each tab.
Is it useful for linking third-party plugins?
Yes, you can use a tab to give access from the account to another plugin you already use, so members don't have to look for it around the site.
Does it create the surveys or forms itself?
No. The tab presents them inside the account, but you build the form or survey with the tool you prefer.
Does it work without MemberPress?
No. It is an add-on and needs MemberPress installed so there is something to add tabs to.
What to put in the tabs so members come back
You don't need to fill the navigation. Uses that fit what the add-on allows:
- A tab with an opt-in form or a feedback survey, to collect data from people who are already inside and already yours.
- A tab that offers restricted premium content for a higher level, as an invitation to upgrade.
- A tab of resources and personalized downloads, so members find what they need in one place.
An add-on with no life of its own outside MemberPress
Account Nav Tabs is not a member area builder and it doesn't create content: it only provides a place and access control for what you have already prepared. If you don't yet have resources, surveys or premium content worth a tab, the add-on won't fix that. And if you don't use MemberPress as your membership system, there is no point in installing it.
