About Min Max Quantity & Step Control for WooCommerce (PRO)

A minimum sets a floor, but it does not turn your product into a box

You sell by the box or in sealed packs and set the box size as the minimum. It looks solved, until someone orders a slightly larger quantity that does not come out in whole boxes. The order meets your rule and you still cannot prepare it as it stands. The minimum says where buying starts; the step says in what increments.

Min Max Quantity & Step Control treats those two values separately. Alongside minimums and maximums, it enforces fixed purchase intervals so customers move through quantities your warehouse can actually serve.

Three levels so you do not repeat the same rule

Minimum, maximum and step are set at three levels, and the most specific one wins:

  • Global: the same values for all products.
  • By category: values that only affect the chosen categories.
  • By product: a "Min Max & Step" tab in the product editor, which overrides the other two.

In variable products, each variation can carry its own limits and its own step.

When the unit is not a whole number

Anyone selling by weight, volume or length needs more than integers. The paid version allows decimal quantities, such as 0.5 kg, 1.75 L or 2.25 m, and a prefix or suffix next to the quantity, for example "KG" or "Per Order". It also offers multiplying the price by the quantity on the product page, so the buyer sees the result before adding it.

The product rule does not watch the cart

A customer can meet every per-product limit and still leave an order that does not work for you. That is why cart conditions are configured separately:

  • Quantity and price: order minimums and maximums on the cart page.
  • By category: specific conditions for each category in the cart.
  • Include and exclude: products that enter or leave the rule.
  • Messages: error and quantity notices can be customized.

Before publishing, put each case in a test cart and read the notice the customer would get.

WooCommerce, blocks and the setup order

It needs WooCommerce and works on top of its quantity system, with simple and variable products. It is also compatible with the cart and checkout blocks, and with WPML, where values are set only on the main product. It needs no shortcodes. To start:

  1. Set the global values that should cover most of your catalog.
  2. Create the exceptions by category.
  3. Adjust special products in the "Min Max & Step" tab.
  4. Create separately the cart rules you need.
  5. Turn on, if it suits you, the quantity box on archive pages.

The default quantity is the least direct point: it is enabled with a code snippet in the theme's functions.php, preferably a child theme.

If you are comparing other quantity limiters

WooCommerce Min/Max Quantities sells in multiples with its "Group of" rule, can add up a product's variations to meet a minimum and sets per-order minimums and maximums. WooCommerce Quantity Manager, by Barn2 Media, is another catalog option to compare.

Which value wins, decimals and cart blocks

Which value wins if there are several?

The product's. Its values replace the category and global ones.

Do product rules count as cart rules?

No. Cart conditions are set separately.

Can I sell 0.5 kg?

Yes, decimal quantities are available in the paid version.

Does it work with the cart block?

Yes, it is compatible with the WooCommerce cart and checkout blocks.

Does it show the quantity selector in the shop?

Yes, it adds a quantity box on archive pages from the settings, with no coding.

Do I need to translate the rules in WPML?

There is no need to repeat them: minimum, maximum and step are set on the main product.
