About MonsterInsights User Journey Addon
For the store that already sells and doesn't know why some visitors buy and others leave
Seeing that a store makes money is easy. What's hard is knowing which path each customer took before paying: whether they came in through a blog post and hesitated for twenty minutes, or landed on a product page and bought right away. MonsterInsights User Journey Addon shows that path order by order.
It suits you if you sell with WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, GiveWP, LifterLMS or Restrict Content Pro and want to understand how buyers behave. It's not for you if you don't have sales or registered orders yet, because the journey is tied to completed transactions. Nor is it for you if you're looking for a standalone addon: it needs the MonsterInsights eCommerce addon.
Each buyer's journey, page by page
For every order you'll see the pages the customer visited, in exact order and with the address of each one: a blog post, the homepage, a product or a landing page. That way you know which content pushes people toward a purchase, not just which page came last.
- Time per step: measured in minutes, to tell the person who bought after 30 seconds from the one who browsed for 30 minutes.
- Time per page: measured in seconds, useful to see which product holds attention and where interest cools off.
- Campaign attribution: the campaign, source and medium (UTM) that first brought that customer in.
Where your checkout gets stuck
Conversion rate tells you how many people bought, but not where the rest left. The addon lets you spot which pages or steps appear again and again in journeys that don't end in a purchase, and how much time people spent there. With that you decide what to fix in the payment process instead of guessing.
Keep one nuance in mind: it is not an A/B testing or heatmap tool.
Which campaign actually brought in the person who paid
Anyone mixing email, social and ads usually knows which channel gets clicks, but not which one gets orders. Since every journey starts with the source that brought the customer, you can link a specific order to the email, ad or post that started it and move budget toward what sells. For this attribution to be useful, your campaign links need to carry UTM parameters.
Where you check it: in the order and in an overview report
When you open an order in your platform, a section called User Journey by MonsterInsights shows the full path, without leaving the store. There is also an overview report at Insights » User Journey, with recent transactions, date, order total, steps to purchase and UTM breakdown, so you can compare routes and see which ones convert most reliably.
