About Soliloquy - Carousel Addon
A slider that shows one image at a time hides the best of your catalog
If you sell with images (projects, products, clients, photos of a venue), visitors tend to glance and keep what they see at first sight. With a classic slider, the rest sits behind arrows that many people never click. Showing several items at once gives them a sense of the whole without asking them to wait.
Soliloquy - Carousel Addon does exactly that: it turns any Soliloquy slider into a responsive carousel, with several items in the same row. It is an add-on: it needs the Soliloquy plugin and does not work on its own.
From a homepage slider to a row of projects, step by step
Imagine a photography studio with a slider of its best work. Here is how the addon would transform it:
- You start from a slider you already have. The addon applies to an existing slider, so you redo nothing: your images, photos, videos or galleries remain the content.
- You decide how much room each item takes. From a visual interface you set the width of each one and the margin between them, with no code.
- You set minimum and maximum ranges. You set them from the same interface.
- You choose how many items move with each step. You adjust it from the interface.
- You add captions, links or video. You can use captions, linked images and videos in the carousel.
One limit to keep in mind: the more items fit in the row, the less room each one has. Long captions read worse in a carousel of four or five items than in one of two. Check in the demo how it looks with the type of image you plan to use, and review the result on mobile before publishing.
It also does not create content by itself: it does not generate thumbnails or choose what to show. It organizes what you have already loaded into the Soliloquy slider.

Does it work without Soliloquy?
No. It is an addon for the Soliloquy plugin and applies to the sliders you create with it.
Does it look good on mobile?
It is designed to be fully responsive and works on mobile devices. Still, test it with your own images to see how many items make sense on small screens.
Can I put videos in the carousel?
Yes, along with linked images and captions.
Can I control how many items move each time?
Yes. Besides the number of items that move in each animation, you adjust width, margins and minimum and maximum ranges from the interface.
When it is better to keep the single-image slider
If your header needs one large image with a strong message, a carousel with several thumbnails takes away its impact. Use it when the value is in variety: a project portfolio, a row of products or a photo gallery you want to see at a glance.
