A front photo does not show the back
A front photo and a side photo rarely do the job when the customer can't pick up the product: they can't see the back, the finish or the detail of the clasp. That doubt stalls the purchase, and it weighs more on items with personality, where details matter.
A 360º spin is won in the photo session, not in WordPress. WooCommerce 360º Image handles the web side, that is, it animates the images you give it. If the photos are poorly aligned, the spin will look like a jumpy slideshow.
From turntable to gallery: the walkthrough with WooCommerce 360º Image
Step 1: you shoot the photo series
You photograph the product rotating it by the same angle each time, with identical framing and lighting.
Step 2: you upload the image group to the gallery
You add the images to the product's native WooCommerce gallery, without setting anything up separately. Limit: the animation appears in place of the featured image, so that photo no longer shows as a still. Choose carefully which frame opens the spin, because it will be the first impression.
Step 3: the customer explores
The visitor spins the product and moves around it with the navigation controls. On mobile it works by touch, and the viewer adapts to the screen size. There is also a full-screen mode for looking closely at details.
Step 4: you move it elsewhere if you need to
With the shortcode you can embed the viewer outside the main image: in tabs, blocks or custom layouts. It's useful if you want to keep a still photo as the cover and leave the spin as extra content.

How many photos do I need for a smooth spin?
Between 24 and 36 frames usually give a smooth spin on desktop and mobile; it works with fewer, but it feels less smooth.
Do I need special hosting or a CDN?
No special hosting is required. That said, serving optimized images (and a CDN if you have one) keeps the spin feeling fast.
Does it work with block-based cart and checkout and with HPOS?
It is compatible with both: the cart and checkout blocks and high-performance order storage (HPOS).
