A crypto price site that goes stale within a week
Building a quotes website by hand means copying prices that change every minute, updating pages one by one and watching the content age before you even publish it. Whoever sets this up competes for traffic in a sector where visitors do not linger: they check the price, compare and leave for the most complete site. What decides whether they return is having up-to-date data.
Coins MarketCap is a CoinMarketCap-style plugin that shows live prices, market cap, 24-hour volume, available supply, percentage changes and price charts. It works with more than 2,500 cryptocurrencies, so you do not have to load the data for each one yourself.
Lists, coin pages and a calculator with Coins MarketCap
The core piece is the coin table, which you place wherever you want with shortcodes. You can show changes over 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and one year, so visitors see both short and long trends. You can also:
- Create your own lists and group coins with custom categories.
- Enable or disable specific coins with a toggle.
- Highlight the biggest gainers and losers over the chosen period.
- Choose how many coins load per page.
- Show values in a fiat currency such as USD or EUR.
Each coin automatically gets its own individual page, with two designs to choose from (advanced tabs or clean classic) and the option to swap the chart for a TradingView one. It also includes a conversion calculator between cryptocurrencies, an exchange list with pairs and volumes, and a Twitter feed from crypto accounts.
Ranking hundreds of pages: slugs, metadata and affiliate links
For a site like this, organic traffic comes from each coin's page. The plugin lets you customize the slug, add your own descriptions to each listing and work with unique SEO titles and descriptions, compatible with Yoast SEO, including OG tags. The custom description matters: hundreds of pages with only figures look too similar to each other, and a paragraph of your own on the coins you care about makes the difference.
If you monetize through affiliates, you can add affiliate links that send the visitor to a specific page. With your own CSS you adapt tables and pages to your design, and the plugin is compatible with any theme.
Choosing a data source and knowing what is left out: questions before deciding
The data comes from third-party APIs: you can use CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap or a combination of both, and currency conversions use Openexchangerates. Your site therefore depends on those services responding and on their terms of use. This is not a trading product and it does not execute trades: it is a data showcase.
Nor is it an advisory service. If you publish quotes, it is wise to make clear that they are informational and not investment advice.
How many coins can I show?
More than 2,500 cryptocurrencies, and you decide how many load per page and which ones are enabled.
Are the pages for each coin created automatically?
Yes, they are generated automatically, with two designs and a TradingView chart option.
Does it include the full exchange list?
It includes an exchange list with pairs and 24-hour volumes. The more detailed exchange pages, with comparisons and multi-fiat support, belong to a separate plugin, Cryptocurrency Exchanges List Pro.
Does it work with my theme and with Yoast?
