About Fixhero – Handyman & Repair Services WordPress Theme

The list of forty services is a trap

It is the first thing everybody does when building a maintenance business website, and it is what to avoid.

The logic looks impeccable: if I list everything I can do, somebody will find their thing. So the services page ends up with forty lines: plumbing, electrics, painting, furniture assembly, blinds, damp, locks, tiling, air conditioning and thirty more.

The effect is the opposite of the one intended. Whoever reads that list does not think "they do everything": they think "they are a specialist in nothing". And when what they have is a specific fault worrying them, they want whoever fixes it every day, not whoever does it occasionally.

Fixhero is a WordPress theme for repair and maintenance companies, designed to present services, highlight experience and connect with whoever is looking for reliable solutions for their home.

What it contributes

  • A maintenance company structure, with the sector's sections already built.
  • Service pages ready for presenting each speciality.
  • A focus on experience and trust, which is where this sector gets decided.
  • Responsive design, essential because nearly every visit arrives from a phone.

How that gets organised so it works

Five services in the menu, the rest inside. Choose the five you do most and most want to do, and give those a page of their own with their own content. The others can live in a list at the foot of those pages. You lose nothing and you gain looking good at something.

One page per service, with different content. Not the same template with the name swapped. What usually goes wrong, how long it takes, what has to be decided beforehand, roughly what it costs. That is what people search for, and it is what none of your competitors is writing.

The photographs, of ordinary jobs. This always fails the same way: the spectacular projects get shown. But whoever is going to call you has damp in the bathroom, not a full renovation. A before and after of damp resolved converts better than a whole magazine flat.

Prices, as ranges. Even "changing a tap, from this much". It is what gets searched for most and what fewest sites in the sector say, and saying it filters out whoever was never going to hire.

What this theme is not

Worth being clear. A theme presents the business. If what you need is people booking a visit in a specific slot, with each operative's diary and automatic reminders, that is an appointments plugin and comes separately.

And if your work is mainly emergency rather than appointment, the piece that pays is not the diary: it is the large, tappable phone number on every page.

Requirements

It needs WordPress. Appointment booking and the quote form get added separately.

Alternatives in the catalogue

On the same ground, Hendy covers handyman work and several trades, with the same structure.

If your trade is specific, a dedicated theme saves layout work and sharpens the message: FixNow for plumbing, AirTech for heating and cooling, FastPro for cleaning and Poolax for pool maintenance.

If rather than travelling to jobs you have a workshop and repair devices, the business runs differently: Electro Repair is built for that, and RepairPlugin manages appointments by device.

For the two missing pieces: MotoPress Appointment Booking or Amelia for the diary with reminders, and Cost Calculator Builder for giving an estimate on the spot rather than waiting for your call.

Frequently asked questions

How many services should be shown?
Five in the menu, each with its own page. A list of forty makes you look like a specialist in nothing.

Which photographs work best?
Ordinary jobs resolved, not spectacular projects. That is what your customer has.

Does it include appointment booking?
No. The theme presents the business; the diary with slots is a separate plugin.

Should prices be published?
Ranges, yes. It is the most searched thing and what fewest sites in the sector say.

Does it work for several trades at once?
Yes, it is designed for that, although prioritising a few in the menu is worthwhile.

And if my work is emergencies?
Then what pays most is the large, tappable phone number, not the diary.
