A four-product funnel is four prices thought through together

You have a main product and you want to sell something more to someone who is already going to pay. You add an offer, then another, and each carries its own price. The buyer gets them one after another, and what they pay in the end depends on which ones they accept.

A complete funnel brings together at least four items, and it pays to set their prices together, because the offers reach the buyer one after another.

Sales Funnels is a GetPaid extension that adds offers to the buying process: add-ons at checkout, a later offer without re-entering card details, an alternative if the buyer turns it down, and a success page of its own.

Three offers and a success page in each funnel

• Order bump: a complementary product offered on the checkout form. If the buyer picks it, it is added to their original order.
• One-click upsell: the offer appears after payment. It uses a tokenized transaction, so the product is added without the buyer entering their payment details again.
• One-click downsell: it is normally offered only when the buyer turns down the upsell.
• Success page: you assign one to each funnel, listing the item purchased and the amount, and you can add whatever content you need to it.

All the pages of the funnel can be customized and offer shortcodes or blocks for each element.

A four-item funnel to test

Create a main product, a product for the order bump, another for the upsell and another for the downsell. On the main product you indicate the success page, the upsell item and page, the downsell item and page, and the order bumps. With the default pages you can already walk through it.

Make a test purchase as if you were the customer. Look at the order in which the offers appear and add up what someone who accepts the upsell would pay, and what someone who turns it down and takes the downsell would pay. It is a check you should make with your own products, because the sequence only makes sense if the four prices are coherent with one another.

Funnel requirements and the order of the offers

• It needs GetPaid and the Sales Funnels extension installed and active.
• A complete funnel requires four or more GetPaid items, created with a title, price, description and featured image. The price can be recurring or fixed.
• The downsell is normally offered only when the upsell is turned down, so it does not replace a second upsell.
• The upsell is charged after the payment button is clicked, with a tokenized transaction.

How to build your first funnel

You need GetPaid active and the extension installed.

1. Activate Sales Funnels. A new settings box will appear below each of your items.
2. Create the items in GetPaid, Items, Add New: title, price, description and featured image.
3. Open the main item and choose in that box the success page, the upsell item and page, the downsell item and page, and one or more order bumps.
4. Use the default pages or customize them with the shortcodes or blocks they offer.
5. Make a test purchase and walk through all the offers.

How many items does a funnel need?

For a complete one, four or more: the main item, an order bump, an upsell and a downsell.

Does the buyer have to enter their card again for the upsell?

No. The later offer uses a tokenized transaction, and accepting it asks for no more payment details.

When does the downsell appear?

Normally only when the buyer turns down the upsell.

Can I change how the pages look?
