About Gravity Forms integration for wpDataTables

Form responses stay locked in the entries panel: to share them with a team, sort them or show them on a public page, you end up exporting to Excel and pasting data that is already stale the next day. This add-on brings those entries into a live table inside your site.

Each entry is a row and each field is a column

Gravity Forms integration for wpDataTables adds Gravity Forms as one more data source in the wpDataTables table creation wizard. You pick the form and the table shows each entry as a row, with the fields you select as columns.

Whoever installs this usually has a form that already works and a problem afterwards: the data is collected well, but nobody in the business can check it comfortably without entering the admin area.

Control over which entries are shown

  • Fields as columns: you show only the fields that matter and leave out the rest.
  • Entry metadata: you can include data such as submission date, user and IP address.
  • Volume of results: show all entries, limit the number or filter by date range.
  • Deleted entries: you decide whether they appear or not.

Before publishing a table openly, review which columns you include: fields such as the IP or the user are personal data of the person who filled in the form and are not usually something you want to show to any visitor.

Editing from the table itself

With front-end editing you can modify Gravity Forms entries from the table interface, without going through the entries panel. It is useful if a team corrects data often, for example to update the status of a request. It is wise to define clearly who can see that table, because editing entries has consequences for the original data.

Large tables without a sluggish page

When a form accumulates many responses, loading them all at once is heavy. Server-side processing loads rows dynamically, so the table stays manageable. And because it is a wpDataTables table, you can use its usual features: mobile-responsive layout, formulas and charts.

It needs full versions of wpDataTables and Gravity Forms

This add-on does not work on its own. What it solves and what you will have to cover yourself:

  • Solved: connecting Gravity Forms with wpDataTables, choosing columns, filtering by dates, editing entries and showing metadata.
  • Separate: you need the full versions of wpDataTables and Gravity Forms already installed.
  • Separate: the form must exist and have at least one entry; a form with no responses cannot be shown in a table.
  • Up to you: the visual design of the table and the privacy decisions about the data you publish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it if I only have wpDataTables or only Gravity Forms?

No. The full versions of both plugins are required.

Can I show a form that has not received any responses yet?

No: only forms with at least one entry can be shown.

Can entries be edited from the public site?

Yes, the table lets you edit Gravity Forms entries from its interface.

Does it work for tables with many entries?

Yes, thanks to server-side processing, which loads rows dynamically.

Can I see who submitted each entry and when?

Yes, you can show metadata such as submission date, user and IP.
