About Lemars – Personal Blog WordPress Theme

Changing the look takes an afternoon; changing the builder does not

A personal travel, fashion or beauty blog may change design more than once, and whoever runs it trusts the archive to come along. With text written in the normal WordPress editor, that is easier. With pages built in a visual builder, the story changes: each builder stores things its own way, and replacing it means going back over what was made with it.

On a personal blog, the longest-lasting decision is the tool you lay out your pages with. And Lemars makes you think about it, because it accepts several.

Lemars is a theme from DexignZone for personal blogs on lifestyle, fashion, beauty and travel. It was born with its own components for King Composer, later added Elementor and WPBakery, and it is compatible with the WordPress block editor. It is worth choosing one of those paths before the first page, rather than mixing them along the way.

Three builders and one editor in the same theme

  • King Composer, with its own customized components.
  • Elementor and Elementor Pro, on its compatibility list.
  • WPBakery Page Builder, also compatible.
  • WordPress block editor, with which it is fully compatible.

For a blog centered on writing, the block editor leaves your posts with no builder in between. Highly designed pages, such as the home page, are the ones that call for a builder.

Lemars sliders, post formats and banners

  • One-click installer with demo content and sliders.
  • Responsive design optimized for retina screens.
  • Various post formats and custom page templates.
  • Unlimited sidebars and custom widgets.
  • Full-screen background slider and Revolution Slider.
  • WhatsApp sharing and social links.
  • Banner settings for posts and WooCommerce products.
  • Contact forms with Contact Form 7.
  • Translation with .pot files and extended WPML support.
  • Child theme included, custom CSS and options on the Vafpress framework.
  • Tested on WordPress multisite.

An author's blog, not a magazine with advertising

Lemars is meant for personal blogs. There is no review system, ad blocker detection or ad locations among its features, so if your plan is an outlet with several bylines and advertising, a magazine theme will give you more.

There is WooCommerce compatibility and banner settings for products, with no shop demos among its features. For a large store it is better to look for a shop theme.

Test your chosen path before migrating. Build one real page with the tool you decided on and check it on a phone: the sample content says nothing about your photos or your long posts.

Pick the editor, then install Lemars

The theme is ready for WordPress 5.0 or higher, and it works with Contact Form 7 for forms. It installs by FTP or from WordPress itself. The order that saves rebuilding pages is this:

  1. Decide whether you will lay out with the block editor, Elementor, WPBakery or King Composer.
  2. Install the theme and activate the child theme if you will touch CSS.
  3. Load the demo content with the one-click installer.
  4. Choose fonts and create the sidebars you will use.
  5. Redo one real post and an About page before migrating the rest of the archive.

Marcell, Soledad and Fabula against Lemars

Marcell is aimed at writers and at travel or niche blogs, with Elementor for changing pages, headers and footers. If your blog is heading toward becoming an outlet, Soledad works with Elementor, WPBakery and the block editor, and adds its own builders, ads and a paywall.

Fabula offers layouts for a personal blog as well as for a digital magazine and subscription content, in case you do not want to close that door.

Builder, languages and shop in Lemars

Do I have to use King Composer?

Not necessarily: it is also compatible with Elementor, WPBakery and the block editor.

Does it work with just the block editor?

It is fully compatible with it, and for a text blog it is the option with the fewest pieces.

Can I publish the blog in two languages?

Yes. It has extended WPML support, and it can be translated with .pot files.

Can I sell from the blog?

Yes, with WooCommerce, and the theme adds banner settings on products.
