The big SEO plugins have a problem nobody admits: most of the sites that install them never configure them. They sit on the defaults, with the traffic light on amber for every post and two hundred untouched options. The plugin is there, the SEO is not.
Magic SEO goes the opposite way. You install it, activate it, and from then on it works by itself from the content you already write. No complicated settings and no configuration screens to review.
What it generates automatically
- Titles and meta descriptions, drawn from each page's own content.
- Head meta tags.
- Twitter Card and Open Graph data, which is what decides how one of your links looks when shared on social media.
- An XML sitemap compatible with search engines, updating itself as you publish.
It also adds options for improving site performance and security.
Who it makes sense for
Small and medium sites where nobody is going to spend time tuning each post: personal blogs, local business sites, catalogues that rarely change. Also as a quick baseline on a new site, so you are not left with no SEO at all while deciding what to do.
And who it does not
If your rankings are a commercial objective and you want to control each page's title, choose the target keyword for each article, or decide what gets indexed and what does not, this approach will fall short by design. Its advantage is that it asks for no decisions, and that is also its limitation: it does not allow them.
