About Playroom – Kids & Kindergarten Theme

A party venue sells Saturdays, and there are only fifty-two a year

It is the whole arithmetic of this business and it explains where the website's effort belongs.

A children's activity centre or party venue does not sell a product: it sells weekend time slots. Saturday eleven to one, Saturday five to seven, Sunday morning. Those slots are limited, they run out, and the ones left empty are never recovered because next Saturday is a different Saturday.

Which is why the page that matters is not the services one: it is the calendar showing what is still free. A parent organising a birthday for Saturday the fourteenth wants to know within thirty seconds whether that day is available, and if they have to phone to find out, they phone whoever does show it.

Playroom is a WordPress theme for that kind of business: children's entertainment centres, nurseries and party venues, with event, booking and venue templates, on Elementor and with two premium plugins included.

What it contributes

  • Event, booking and venue templates already built.
  • Full Elementor compatibility, so you change the pages yourself.
  • Two premium plugins included at no extra cost.
  • A children's aesthetic, with the colour and tone the sector expects.

What to settle before the theme matters

The packages, with prices. In this sector prices get hidden a great deal, and it is a mistake. Parents compare three venues in one afternoon and rule out whoever forces them to phone. Publishing the packages with what each includes and a starting price filters out whoever does not fit and convinces whoever does.

The number of children. It is the figure that changes the quote and the one to ask for on the form, because a party for ten and one for thirty are not the same business or the same space.

Allergies and special requirements. Asking at booking and saying on the site that you ask conveys more professionalism than any design. Parents notice.

The day after the party. Every invited child is a potential birthday in twelve months. A reminder at eleven months to the family that already hired you is the most profitable commercial action in this business, and hardly anybody does it.

A concrete legal warning: photographs of children

It is the part that causes most trouble in this sector and the easiest to solve if thought about beforehand.

Publishing photographs of identifiable minors requires the express consent of whoever holds parental responsibility, and in several countries that consent has to be specific to that publication, not a generic tick box at booking. A parent can also withdraw it later, and then the photograph has to come down.

What everybody who has this solved does: a separate written authorisation, and a gallery with children shown from behind, in wide shots or with faces not recognisable. It works just as well for selling and it removes the problem.

Requirements

It needs WordPress and Elementor. The availability calendar and the deposit payment get solved with a booking plugin.

Alternatives in the catalogue

If your business is a nursery or preschool rather than a party venue, the weight sits elsewhere: Skole and ModKids are designed from the educational side, and Tediss combines play area and childcare centre.

If you sell children's products rather than a service, that is a shop: Babybo and Playgrow are built on WooCommerce.

And if yours is children's therapy or support, which is a different business with a different tone, Parezy is designed for speech therapy and special education.

The piece that genuinely makes any of these sites work is calendar booking: MotoPress Appointment Booking or Amelia, which manage availability, deposits and reminders.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include calendar booking?
It brings booking templates. Real availability and deposit payment come from a booking plugin.

Does it need Elementor?
Yes, it is fully compatible with the builder and that is how the pages get edited.

Is it suitable for a nursery?
It is among its uses, although for preschools there are themes more focused on education.

Can I publish party photographs?
Only with express parental authorisation. The norm is wide shots or unrecognisable faces.

Should I publish prices?
Yes. In this sector hiding them gets you ruled out without a call.

Which commercial action pays back most?
Reminding the family that already hired you, eleven months later. It is the most profitable and hardly anybody does it.
