About Politpress – Multipurpose Political WordPress theme
A political website is read by four different people
Building a candidacy website often ends up as a homepage with one photo, the manifesto hidden in a PDF and news that nobody knows where to find. And the visitor is not just one person: the voter wants to know what you propose, the volunteer where and when to show up, the journalist a press release they can quote and the donor a place to contribute without hesitation.
Politpress is a theme designed for candidates, parties, election campaigns, NGOs and social movements. It comes with structure for the candidate profile, manifesto points, news, the events schedule and press releases, that is, the pieces those four readers come looking for.
Four starter demos depending on who you are
- Election campaign: an impactful layout for anyone running in parliamentary, presidential or mayoral elections.
- Political party: a structure focused on news and people, useful for party programs and leadership teams.
- NGO and charity: designed for non-profit organizations, with GiveWP built in to raise funds.
- Modern church: for religious organizations and communities, with an events calendar and donation forms.
It is best to start from the demo closest to your case and adapt it, rather than forcing a structure that is not yours.
Slider Revolution and a visual builder to change the message
Politpress includes Slider Revolution to create homepage banners, sliders and campaign promo videos. The drag and drop builder lets you change the layout of sections, fonts and colors with a live preview, so someone on the team with no programming knowledge can update the site when the campaign changes course. The design adapts to smartphones, tablets and desktop computers, and the code is HTML5 and CSS3.
Donations depend on GiveWP and on how you collect payments
Before deciding, separate what the theme already brings from what you will have to solve yourself:
- Already solved: four complete demos, Slider Revolution, a visual builder, a responsive design and the GiveWP integration in the NGO demo.
- You cover it: writing the manifesto, the news and the press releases.
- You cover it: setting up GiveWP and the way donations are collected.
- You cover it: the legal notice and the cookie banner.
- By hand or with a professional: any feature the chosen demo does not include.
If you are going to raise money for a campaign, first check the election financing and data protection rules in your country.
