About Revieweb – Review WordPress Theme

A score only counts if July's can be compared with January's

In January you gave a host a high score because it ran fast. In July another one takes a better score because support answered you well. A reader opens both reviews and asks which one suits them, and your numbers cannot answer: they measure different things, even though they look like the same scale.

A review site sells comparability. Readers come back if your scores save them the work of comparing, and that depends on measuring by the same criteria long before choosing a design. Revieweb, by RadiusTheme, helps with that part because it allows rating on a single criterion or on several. Setting which ones and keeping them is still your editorial work.

Before publishing, write a list per category. A host and a course cannot be measured alike, but two hosts must be measured with the same sections and the same weight. If you add a criterion midway, decide what to do with the older reviews, because the old scores stop being comparable.

Four kinds of review and two ways of scoring

  • Review types: blog posts, services, products and hosting.
  • Rating by one criterion or several, also for WooCommerce products.
  • Reviews with images and video.
  • Review & Structured Data Schema included, so search engines detect reviews and ratings.
  • Classified Listing Pro included, for classified ads and directories.
  • Variation Swatches for WooCommerce Pro included, for shop variations.

Elementor, headers and the weight the directory brings

The theme is based on Elementor and Bootstrap 5, with 48 custom Elementor elements, among them post grid, list, slider and tabs. It brings four home pages, five category pages, two post designs, five header styles and three footers, plus a color mode, right-to-left writing and a mega menu.

Classified Listing Pro is a full classifieds system. If your project is a review blog, you can leave it out, because the directory is a different line of work, with its own archives and settings.

No comparison tables and no ready-made criteria

Its features do not include a comparison table. If your site relies on charts of several products side by side, plan a table plugin.

You decide the criteria, and checking who writes and moderating remain work for your team. If you accept visitor ratings, test the submission and define what you publish before opening it.

High memory, three plugins and an import that wipes

Revieweb asks for a PHP memory limit of 512 MB or more and an execution time of 3600 or more. It requires Revieweb Core, RT Framework and Customize Framework, and recommends Elementor. With that solved:

  1. Upload and activate the theme, and install the required plugins.
  2. Import the demo with RT Demo Importer only on a new site, because it replaces all content and settings.
  3. Save the permalinks after importing.
  4. Write your criteria template per category and publish three test reviews.
  5. Deactivate what you do not use, starting with the directory if you do not need it.

If your reviews are born elsewhere or in a directory

For reviews from your own customers that already live on other platforms, Business Reviews Bundle brings those from Google, Facebook and Yelp to your site. If the core is a directory, iReview is a theme for JReviews, software with structured listings and multi-criteria reviews.

If the project is more magazine than buying guide, compare with Critique and with SmartMag, a news and magazine theme that also includes reviews.

Criteria, shop and directory in Revieweb

Can I score on several criteria?

Yes. It allows a single criterion or several, also on WooCommerce products.

Does it work for comparing hosts?

It has a hosting content type with its archives. A comparison table between plans is not among its features.

Can readers leave reviews?

It allows visitor ratings and review submission. Test the full route before opening it.

Do I have to use Classified Listing?

You do not need it for a review blog. It makes sense if you also want classifieds or a directory.

Can I import the demo on a site that already has content?

It is not advisable: the import replaces existing content and settings.
