About Vitepos Pro
The counter and the online store sharing one inventory
Anyone selling both in a physical shop and through WooCommerce ends up keeping two sets of books for the same stock. You sell three units over the counter, and the website keeps offering those three until somebody remembers to deduct them by hand. Vitepos attacks exactly that: it turns WooCommerce into the point-of-sale system at the counter, so in-person and online sales draw down the same stock in real time.
It is not a gateway or an overnight export. It is a till interface running on your own WordPress that writes straight into WooCommerce orders.
Four ways to work, depending on the business
The plugin does not assume every counter is the same. It configures into four modes: corner shop or retail, restaurant with pay-first ordering, restaurant with traditional table service, and a simplified table-management version. The difference is not cosmetic: it changes the till flow, who touches what, and in what order.
For restaurants, three separate panels
- Waiter panel: takes orders, reserves tables, and adds or removes dishes from an order already in progress.
- Kitchen panel: sees orders coming in and marks their preparation status.
- Cashier panel: takes payment, with the order already closed by the other two.
There is internal messaging between them, which handles "tell the kitchen table four wants no onion" without shouting across the room.
Taking payment
It accepts the payment methods you already have set up in WooCommerce, plus Stripe and Wallee terminals for card present. Payments can be split across several methods in the same sale, which is what actually happens when a group pays part in cash and part by card. It also supports holding a cart with its discounts and fees applied, and creating your own payment methods.
Several locations
It allows an unlimited number of outlets and tills, each with its own assigned cashiers and its own tax calculation, which is what you need when locations sit in areas with different rates. Stock can be transferred between them, with a receiving step so goods are not counted as arrived until somebody accepts them.
What it solves day to day
- It works offline: sales are recorded anyway and sync themselves once the line comes back. At a counter this is not an extra, it is the difference between still selling and not.
- Barcode scanning with the phone or tablet camera, plus generating and printing your own.
- Customisable receipts and a customer-facing display during payment.
- Role-based access control, so a cashier does not see what only the manager should.
- HPOS compatible, WooCommerce's high-performance order storage.
- Several languages, including right-to-left scripts.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need WooCommerce?
Yes. Vitepos is not a shop in itself: it is the till that sits on top of WooCommerce and uses its products, its orders and its gateways.
What happens if the internet drops mid-sale?
The sale completes anyway and is stored on the device. When the connection returns it syncs itself with the store.
Is it any good for a market stall or a pop-up?
Yes, that is one of its use cases: it runs from a tablet or a phone with camera-based barcode scanning, no specific hardware required.
Can I handle website orders from the till?
Yes. Online orders are visible and their status can be changed from the same interface, without going back to the WordPress dashboard.
