About EventOn Event Tickets Addon
A ticket does not exist until the order is completed
Someone pays, sees the thank-you screen and assumes the ticket is theirs. In EventON Event Tickets, the unique number and the confirmation email arrive when the order is completed, and a WooCommerce order does not always reach that status after payment. In between sits a person who has paid and still has nothing to show.
Before opening sales, test which status each gateway leaves the order in: whether the ticket arrives depends on it. A test purchase with each payment method shows whether the ticket arrives on its own or whether you need to help WooCommerce complete the order.
This add-on brings ticket sales to the EventON calendar. It does not work on its own: the shop, the payment and the orders belong to WooCommerce.
From the event to the WooCommerce checkout
When you activate the ticket on an event and save it, its WooCommerce product is created. From there, sales are managed from the event itself:
- Purchase box in the event card, placed where you choose within it.
- WooCommerce gateways: it supports whatever your shop supports, with express checkout and block cart and checkout.
- After adding to cart: stay on the page, go to the cart or go straight to checkout.
- Name your price with a minimum for donation or sliding-scale events.
- WooCommerce variations to offer different prices.
- Purchase restrictions: registered users only, or one ticket per purchase.
- Manual ticket generation from the order edit screen.
Capacity, repeat sessions and the list at the door
Capacity is optional. If you set it, you can show the remaining places always or only when they drop below a number, and stop sales some minutes before the start. Once the event date has passed, tickets are no longer on sale.
In a repeating event, each session can have its own allocation. If one reaches zero it shows as sold out and the others stay on sale.
For the organizers, the event gathers its attendees with filters and purchase data. You can collect guest names and other details at checkout, email the list, download it as CSV and view reports by order status, customer location and purchase time.
What comes with other add-ons
Among its features there is no QR code reading or seat selection: QR Code and Seats handle those. Custom ticket types and extras depend on Ticket Variations & Options, and prices that change over time on Dynamic Pricing. Nor does it include the calendar, which is EventON.
EventON, WooCommerce and the first ticket on sale
It needs EventON and WooCommerce installed. With the shop already configured, the route is this:
- Create a new event or open an existing one.
- Activate the ticket for that event and fill in its details, with a SKU and a decimal price, such as 19.50.
- Update or publish the event so the WooCommerce product is created.
- In EventON, Settings, EventCard, place the ticket box where you want it.
- Make a test purchase with each gateway and check that the completed order and the email arrive.
FooEvents and Tickera, if you are not starting from EventON
FooEvents for WooCommerce starts from the shop products: it turns them into events with tickets, QR codes or barcodes and access apps for iOS and Android.
Tickera works on its own, without WooCommerce, with custom-designed PDF tickets and scanning through apps for iOS and Android.
Stuck orders, refunds and voluntary contributions
What do I do if ticket orders do not complete?
There are two routes: the WooCommerce Order Status Control plugin or a code snippet for orders whose products are virtual. Test first which one fits your gateways.
Do places come back after a refund?
Yes, if you turn on automatic restocking, which covers refunded, cancelled or failed orders, repeat sessions included. With it on, do not tick restock when refunding in WooCommerce, or the stock will be added twice.
Can I ask for the name of each guest?
Yes. Names and other details are collected during checkout, and you can make the names required.
Does it work for free events or voluntary contributions?
For voluntary contributions it has name your price with a minimum. If you only want to count attendees without charging, EventON offers RSVP Events as a separate add-on.
