About JetBlocks For Elementor

Your header is not one: it is three, and usually only the first gets designed

Whoever builds a site designs the header looking at it the way a new visitor sees it on a computer. But that bar changes depending on who looks at it: the customer who has already logged in does not need the sign up button but the one for their account, whoever has something in the cart wants to see it without searching, and on mobile the whole menu has to fit behind an icon.

The header is the one part of the site that should change depending on who looks at it, and it almost always stays the same for everyone. JetBlocks, by Crocoblock, brings the Elementor widgets that make it change.

Nine widgets for the header and footer

  • Site Logo, with an optional retina version, and Breadcrumbs.
  • Navigation Menu, with its own mobile trigger.
  • Search: searches posts, pages and custom post types, in the bar or in a full screen popup, with an option to search products.
  • WooCommerce Shopping Cart, with a dropdown cart.
  • Hamburger Panel: a button that opens an Elementor template from the left or right, which can be loaded via AJAX and cached.
  • Auth Links, Login Form and Registration Form, plus a password reset form.

The header for someone who is already a customer

Auth Links is the widget that makes the difference. To someone who is not logged in it shows log in and register; to someone who is, log out and their account. The text can be prefixed with the user's name, and after logging out it sends them to the home page, to the address you choose or back to the same page.

The password reset form sends a link to create a new password by email, with editable redirect and error messages. It needs a real email address to work, so before publishing it check that your site actually sends email.

A sticky header that does not cover the page

The Sticky Section extension keeps the section fixed while scrolling, with its own style in that state: minimum height, background, shadow and transition speed. You choose on which devices it stays fixed, and by default it stops being fixed when it reaches the next sticky element, or at the end of its section if you prefer. It lets you, for example, make the sticky version shorter and quieter than the normal one.

The second extension, Column Order, changes the order of the columns in a section.

Header pieces, not a theme builder

It is not a theme builder. It brings the pieces that go inside the header, but the header is created as an Elementor template in a theme builder, and that builder is what decides on which pages it appears.

The registration captcha is not built in: it is handled with the Captcha 4WP plugin and your Google keys.

And it is for Elementor: the widgets are found in its panel, and the sticky header is Elementor only.

Testing the header logged in and logged out

It needs Elementor, and WooCommerce for the cart widget.

  1. In the JetBlocks panel, enable only the widgets and extensions you will use.
  2. Create the header template and place the logo, menu, search and Auth Links.
  3. Test the header twice: logged out and logged in.
  4. Turn on the sticky header and check on mobile that it does not cover the content.

Templates with conditions and mega menus from the same maker

The in house theme builder is JetThemeCore: it creates header and footer templates and assigns them by conditions, such as the whole site, archives, WooCommerce pages, device or role. If the menu falls short, JetMenu builds mega menus with dynamic content and a mobile menu with its own design. It should not be confused with JetTricks, which adds visual effects and sticky columns to the content, not to the header.

Sessions, search, captcha and the block editor

Can I show different links to logged in users?

Yes. Auth Links shows log in and register without a session, and log out and My Account with one.

Does the search find products?

Yes, it has an option to search WooCommerce products.

What can go in the hamburger panel?

Any Elementor template, for example the menu or a shop's filters.

Does the registration form include a captcha?

It supports a captcha through the Captcha 4WP plugin, with your own Google keys.

Does it work with the block editor?

It is built for Elementor, and the sticky header is Elementor only.
