About WP Fast Admin Dashboard
Every filter on the posts list is another wait
You look for a post from the last promotion. You type a word and the screen reloads. You switch to Drafts and it reloads. You raise the number of items per page and it reloads again. None of those waits is long, but they repeat every time you touch a site's content.
On a site with years of publications, much of the daily work consists of finding what already exists, and that is where time goes before you edit anything. WordPress Fast Admin Dashboard, by WebCodingPlace, gathers posts, pages, custom post types and WooCommerce products in a single menu, and lets you search, filter and sort without reloading the page.
It is a small tool with a specific job. It keeps the native admin style, so your team does not have to learn another panel.
A search that understands more than the title
Native search does not always let you reach content by the detail you remember. Here the search is fuzzy and can start from many fields:
- Title and excerpt, for what you remember of the text.
- Author, useful when a team shares the content.
- Date and number of comments.
- Categories and tags, including WooCommerce product categories.
- Price, to locate products.
You can also narrow the search by content type, so the query goes through only products, only pages or the custom type you care about.
Lists that change without reloading
- Ajax paging: you move between pages without waiting for a screen reload.
- Status lists: published, draft, private, trash, pending and scheduled.
- Sorting: by title, comments, author, tags and categories, ascending or descending.
- Categories in one click: shows the posts related to a category.
- Items per page: the number changes without a reload.
Reviewing the week's scheduled posts or clearing an author's pending items are tasks that fit well here, because they combine a status and a sort order.
The fast part is finding, not editing
When you open an item to edit it, the page reloads and the usual WordPress edit screen appears. The plugin speeds up the route to the content; editing itself stays the same as ever.
It does not speed up wp-admin in general either. Its features do not include caching, database cleanup or performance tuning: if your dashboard is slow because of the server or other plugins, that cause remains. Its features do not include bulk field editing or custom columns either.
The tool is not optimized for Gutenberg. Its work happens in the lists and not inside the editor, but keep that in mind on a block-based site.
Getting started with Fast Admin Dashboard
It runs on WordPress, and WooCommerce only comes in if you will manage products. It supports several languages.
- Install and activate the plugin.
- Open its menu and pick the content type.
- Search for something that was hard to find before, by author or by date.
- Try the draft and scheduled lists.
- Adjust the number of items to the way you work.
When the bottleneck is somewhere else
If you need to change hundreds of products at once, Bulky is a bulk editor for WooCommerce with a history for going back. uiXpress rebuilds the admin in a new layer, with post tables that bring inline editing and batch actions. And if what you want is to decide what each role sees in the panel, WP Adminify takes care of that.
Six points about the plugin
Does it work with custom post types?
Yes, as well as posts, pages and WooCommerce products.
Can I search products by price?
Yes, price is among the search fields.
Can I edit a post without leaving the list?
No. The usual edit screen opens, with a reload.
Does it replace the Posts menu?
It works from a single menu and keeps the native admin style.
Does it work on a site that is not a shop?
Yes. WooCommerce is optional, and posts and pages work the same.
Will it make my dashboard faster?
It speeds up searching and filtering. The panel's general speed depends on other factors.
