Popup Builder Contact Form

Whoever already wrote to you keeps seeing the same form

A visitor opens your contact window, asks about a service and leaves an email address. They come back the next day to reread the offer and there is the window again, asking what they already answered. From your side it was a well-configured popup. From theirs, it looks as if nobody read their message.

A contact form in a window also has to know when to step back. Contact form popup, the Popup Builder extension, opens a form over your site so people can write to you without going to another page. It includes the Hide for already contacted users option, which stops showing it to anyone who has already made contact, and it lets you decide what happens right after sending. These two settings deserve as much attention as the design of the fields.

The fields you build the form with

You can add, edit or delete any field except Submit. When editing, you turn the label on or off, change the name and placeholder, and mark the required ones.

• Basic details: First Name, Last Name, Subject and Email.
• Free text: Textarea for long messages and Text for additional information.
• Phone: Phone and Advanced Phone, which adds the country code when a country is selected.
• Choices: Radio Button, Dropdown, Multiselect and Checkbox.
• Others: Number, Plain Text to display content on the form and GDPR, with a label and confirmation text.

The available fields do not include one for uploading files. If you need to receive documents, a full form builder is a better fit.

What happens after the button is pressed

In After successful subscription you choose one of these actions:

• Success message: shows a message with your text.
• Redirect to URL: sends people to an address, in the same tab or a new one.
• Open popup: opens another window.
• Hide popup: closes the window once sending finishes.

Hide popup simply closes the window, so it helps when you would rather not interrupt. If your visitor needs to know the message arrived, choose a message or a thank-you page.

Contact To sets the addresses that receive submissions, and Contact Email Subject the subject of those emails. With a subject of its own for each window, you can tell where each message came from.

People who write in also end up in Contacted Users, under the Popup Builder menu. From there you can export the list and delete users.

Messages, look and content order

• Style: customizes the background, inputs, message and button, with width, height, borders, margins, colors and sizes.
• Set fields horizontally: places fields next to each other. With Except button, the button sits below them.
• Validation notices: Required Field Message, Error Message and Invalid Email Message accept your own text.
• Show form on the Top: puts the form above the HTML editor content, which comes first by default.

Popup Builder active and an end-to-end test

The extension runs on top of Popup Builder, which must be installed. With both active:

1. Go to Popup Builder and click Add New.
2. Choose Contact Form: the window is created with default settings.
3. Enter the recipient and subject in Contact To and Contact Email Subject.
4. Adapt the fields in Content and the look in Style.
5. In Advanced, decide the action after sending and turn on Hide for already contacted users if it suits you.
6. Choose the event that will open the window and send a real test message.

Exit intent and Inactivity Event are separate extensions, so check what you have installed before counting on them.

Details of the contact window

Can I send messages to more than one address?

Yes. Contact To accepts one or several addresses.

Can I remove fields I do not need?

Yes, all of them except Submit.

Where are contacts stored?

In Contacted Users, under the Popup Builder menu, from where they can be exported.

Can I show text above the form?

Yes. The HTML editor content appears on top by default, and Show form on the Top reverses that order.
